We’re big believers in the idea that the most effective self-defense weapon is the one you’re most likely to have with you and be able to use in an adrenaline-filled emergency situation.
That’s why we’re huge fans of tactical flashlights, for these reasons (and more):
- They’re allowed most anyplace – airplanes, bars, restaurants – pretty much anywhere you’re going will allow you to bring your flashlight along for the ride.
- No special training needed. Flashlights are simple to operate, and you’ve probably used one your entire life.(Like anything, however, practice will improve your skills, so spending time running through self-defense scenarios with your light is definitely time well spent.)
- Can disorient an attacker (human or animal). Use a good tactical light with enough power and you can buy enough time to get away from trouble.
