If you’re like me, you enjoy fall. The crisp air and the changing leaves put me in a special mood.
However, this time of year also starts my mental countdown to winter. I know it’s only a matter of weeks until we see the first snow fall here in the Midwest. And, once winter starts, it’s a long, hard slog until spring comes back around.
I’ll admit – my winter prepping game isn’t quite what it should be, but I’m going to take steps to fix it this fall. For advice, I turned to Urban Survival Site and their list of “19 Survival Items to Buy Before Winter Arrives.”
You can read the full post here but take a quick look at their list to see how your gear stockpile compares.
- Fire Starting Materials (lighters, matches, etc.)
- Folding Saw
- All-Weather Blanket
- Wool Blanket
- Foam Mat
- Sleeping Bag
- Folding Shovel
- Extra Clothing
- Sun Glasses
- Cat Litter
- First Aid Kit
How does your list compare to theirs? Any must-haves they missed?
After you’ve checked out that info, we also recommend you visit Authorized Boots (click here) to read their article on “How to Food Prep: 30 days Worth of Food.” It’s a great resource to include in your winter prepping efforts.
